FAFSA on the Web
Worksheet Makes Filing Online Easier
EDFUND Communications
With more than 90 percent of FAFSAs being submitted online today, you'd think that orders for the hard-copy counterpart would have decreased accordingly. Not so.
Too many students and parents are still using the paper FAFSA to help with online filing. While it makes sense that students have their answers before sitting down at the computer, they should be completing the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet instead. The worksheet follows the flow and logic of the online FAFSA which the paper FAFSA does not. The layout of the worksheet is clean, and it contains instructions throughout.
To help steer online filers to the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet and away from the paper FAFSA, the U.S. Department of Education is no longer sending an initial order of paper FAFSAs to schools. Schools must now order paper FAFSAs for their students who will not be filing online. Available from http://www.fsapubs.org:
Beginning November 1, you can place your order for the 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (Also available in Spanish and Braille)
Students and families may also request single copies of the worksheet or the paper FAFSA by calling toll free 800.4FED.AID (1.800.433.3243).
