For this initial set of case studies, EDFUND identified 13 of the longest running EDSHARE projects for in-depth review. As a group, schools chosen represented the broad category of institutions with whom EDFUND works: proprietary schools, land grant universities, private colleges and public universities. In addition, while each initiative was multi-faceted and distinct, the EDFUND programs did share certain themes. To this end, EDFUND categorized grant types by four distinct approaches: technology-focused programs, personal outreach programs, peer assistance programs and non-traditional approaches.
