California State University, Monterey Bay/Seaside, CA - For creation of a Student Loan Advising Program designed collaboratively by financial aid, residential life and student activities staff.
California State University, Northridge/ Northridge, CA - For increasing its lender collaboration and instituting a new default prevention plan with strong benchmarks and new research-driven practices.
City College of San Francisco/San Francisco, CA - For development and implementation of a Web-based system to track Stafford loan recipients leaving CCSF, and for an in-school repayment counseling program.
Cleveland Chiropractic College/Los Angeles, CA - For instituting a Financial Aid/Default Management Help Desk to contact and counsel all borrowers, including a default management specialist to intervene with delinquent borrowers.
Computer Education Institute/Multiple California locations - To initiate an aggressive mail and telephone campaign targeted at borrowers in repayment and delinquent status, and to enhance borrower interviews.
Consortium of 10 Northern California Community Colleges/Multiple campuses throughout Northern California - For developing a project plan to implement a comprehensive community college debt management and default prevention program.
Corinthian Colleges/Santa Ana, CA - and multiple campuses nationwide - To conduct specialized default prevention activities at three higher default rate institutions and develop a debt management curriculum to be replicated at all campuses.
Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising/Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco & San Diego, CA - For expanding the content and enhancing the sessions provided in the school's Financial Survivor Skills program.
Gonzaga University/Spokane, WA - For design of a financial peer education program, including new print and Web-based educational materials.

Lassen Community College District/Shasta & Butte Counties, CA - For increasing student employment opportunities by expanding an off-campus work-study program and developing financial planning seminars.
Lewis-Clark State College/Lewiston, ID - To expand debt management awareness among incoming students and contact and counsel students who have left the college.
Linfield College/McMinnville, OR - For creating a debt management brochure, expanding graduate contact and launching a "game show" to engage students on financial issues.

University of California, Geffen School of Medicine/Los Angeles, CA - To support and enhance the school debt management Web site and streaming video technology.
University of California, San Francisco/San Francisco, CA - To increase debt awareness and promote sound borrowing practices through a new comprehensive debt management program.
University of Nevada (Reno)/Reno, NV - For launching a student financial planning series run jointly by the student union and office of student financial services.
University of Phoenix/Multiple campuses nationwide - To conduct research on and begin developing a four-part default prevention program for all campuses, including Web-based services and an online money management course.
University of San Diego/Consortium of institutions - For a clearinghouse and repository to collect, evaluate and distribute financial literacy resources, tools and information through the California Student Debt Resource and Awareness Project task force.
University of Southern California/Los Angeles, CA - For developing an interactive Web site tailored for students at each grade level, to measure and increase financial literacy before loan applications are processed.
Washington State University/Pullman, WA - To establish a financial literacy project that includes a workshop series and development of a database for determining "student default" profiles.
Western Default Prevention Consortium/Two locations in Nevada and one in California - To create a Web-based National Student Reference Data System to provide timely borrower data in support of Clarita Career College, Heritage College and Dahan Institute.
Willamette University/Salem, OR - For development of residential commons programs that address not only debt management but scholarship research, credit counseling, student aid planning and evaluation of loan consolidation.
